The RHODes will develop its own partnerships in order to fulfill its mission in the creation, transmission, and dissemination of knowledge, through the promotion of research and technological development and innovation in the area of dental hygiene. These partnerships will be based on, and will extend, those already existing in the Degree in Dental Hygiene at the Lisbon Dental Medicine School – University of Lisbon.
These national and international partnerships seek to broaden the profile of the BSc and MSc Degrees in Dental Hygiene at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Lisbon, by giving it an international dimension through existing cooperation protocols with the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden); the InHolland University of Applied Sciences (Holland); the Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Finland); the Turku University (Finland), the University of Copenhagen (Denmark); the Klaipeda State College (Lithuania), Artevelde University College, Ghent (Belgium) and the West Coast University (USA). These protocols have allowed the exchange of students and teachers.
At a national level, the relationship with institutions such as Hospitals, structures for the Elderly, Social Emergency Homes, Institutions for people with special needs, Prisons, Associations for the support of immigrants and refugees, and reference Dental Clinics, allow students of the Bachelor Degree and Master in Dental Hygiene to obtain and deepen their knowledge and, at the same time, to participate in oral health training for technical and auxiliary staff of public, private and social sector institutions, to participate in campaigns and health fairs organized by public and private institutions, municipalities, schools and occupational health activities.
